| Enemy Mind Studios will meet with you in person, over the phone, or via email to discuss what type of project you would like to do. This will help determine the amount of studio time needed and when you can be worked into the schedule. At this time you will receive an estimate for the price of your project, of which 50% is to be paid at the start of the project. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project before mastered copies are released to the client. |

Drums -
This is accomplished by close micing the drums individually, kick, snare, hi hat, toms 1,2, 3 & 4, condenser mic for the ride cymbal, 2 overhead large diaphragm condenser mics to capture cymbals and the entire kit, and a condenser room mic to capture the kit's "live" sound. The remaining channels (16) in all are used for guitar, bass, and vocal scratch tracks. Using high resolution (32 bit/96khz) rack mounted mic preamp/digital converters ensures clean sound, and clarity.
Guitar and Bass -
Getting good tones for the guitars and bass is a breeze, EMS has a lot of years in this department. Bass is tracked via D.I. and/or micing the bass amp. The guitarist can use their own setups miced or utilize the studio Vetta 2 head, which features 74 available amp models, 2 at once, and the ability to decide on amp tones and/or studio quality effects during mixdown. This is done by recording a D.I. of the guitar and re-amping through the amp during mixdown, which is all done in 32 bit, 96 Khz resolution, and no introduction of noise or signal degradation. This is a feature exclusive to Enemy Mind Studios. These features have been put together by EMS to ensure clients can capture their best performances in a comfortable, creative atmosphere, while having a palette of tones that would cost thousands available at no extra cost.
Vocals -
Great vocals are also a breeze to capture in a comfortable environment. Tracked in a separate room with no one watching over the singer, unless he/she wishes there to be. Great vocal tones are achieved through quality condenser, or dynamic mics, a tube, mic pre/compressor, and a large number of plug-in vocal effects to choose from. If we can't get the vocal sound you're looking for, chances are no one can. |

The process of trimming, moving, or removing
audio parts to clean up unwanted noises etc.
It is also possible to cut, copy, or paste
sections of the songs to other parts. You can
also completely mute parts that you've decided
not to include in the mix. All editing is done entirely in the digital domain without the introduction of noise and can be undone or changed at any point. |

Mixing is the process of establishing balance in audio volume and equalization between all tracks in the song mix.
This is also the point where you establish the audio tracks panning position in the stereo field. Applying individual eq's, compression, gates, and individual effects are also done at this time. |

|
| The processes of the mastering stage handle the entire mix as one stereo unit. Equalization, multi-band compression, and limiting are applied to the entire mix to provide punch, clarity, and overall maximized volume to the mix. Dithering is the final process which converts audio from 32-Bit / 96 Khz formats, which are used during recording and mixing to 16-Bit / 44.1KHZ format. This allows the album to be played by all consumer CD players. This is also the stage at which track order, fade in and fade outs, and track spacing are established for the entire album. |

| Enemy Mind Studios will provide you a finalized master copy of your recording. You will also receive a DVD archive of the digital files used to create your project similar to "master tapes" (DVD media provided by client). You can take these master copies and send them to a CD duplication service, or use it to burn copies on your own. |
